TODAY'S MESSAGE (WED-08/07/2020)
TOPIC: APPRECIATE GOD ALWAYS
TEXT: Luke 17:11-19
Luke 17:15-19. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God.
And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger,
And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
The story of the ten lepers in today's text gives us the clear picture of what is going on among the children of God today about those that are grateful and about those that are not grateful (ungrateful or ingrate). Some people always show appreciation to God on whatever He does for them whether small or big while many take God blessings for granted. They rather complain about what God has not done for them than to thank Him for what He has done for them.
Jesus healed ten lepers and it was only one that came back to thank Him, to appreciate Him, to show gratitude to Him. The remaining nine lepers took their miracles for granted.
When they were in a sympathetic situation, they knew how to call on Jesus for their miracles but after receiving it, they ran away.
Many children of God today receive God's miracles and run away from God. Many take their miracles for granted.
When that one came back to appreciate Jesus, Jesus asked about the remaining nine lepers, meaning that, He was expecting them back to show the heart of gratitude but alas, they failed to come.
Many children of God receive miracles and very few come back to thank God. Many at times, instead of thanking God for what He has done for us, we keep asking Him what He has not done.
We need to change our attitude towards God. We need to have a heart of gratitude towards Him. Each time He does something for us, we must appreciate Him before asking for others that are yet to be done for us.
Which group do you belong to? Is it the group of nine that failed to come back to Jesus to appreciate Him for their healing or the group of one that came back to Jesus to say thank you?
Friends, everyday of your life, learn how to say thank you Jesus. As you do that, your miracles shall be permanent in Jesus Mighty Name.
